PB Vision - Stat Accuracy
π Why Are My Stats Inaccurate?
Most accuracy issues come from how the video was recorded, not from the AI itself. Here are the most common causes:
Poor framing β If the full court or all four players aren't visible, the AI has less data to work with. See our Framing & Court Alignment Guidelines for optimal setup.
Shade or poor lighting β If it's hard for the human eye to see the ball, the AI will struggle too. Partial shade across the court is especially challenging.
Camera movement β Even small shifts during recording can throw off court alignment. Use a tripod or stable mount.
Low ball-to-court contrast β A yellow ball on a tan or yellow court is harder for the AI to track than a bright ball on a dark surface.
Players leaving the frame β If a player moves out of view (even briefly), the AI may lose track of who is who.
Similar player appearance β When players wear similar colors or overlap frequently, the AI may occasionally swap player identities.
For best results, follow our Framing & Court Alignment Guidelines before recording.
π How Accurate Is PB Vision?
When our Framing & Court Alignment Guidelines are followed, PB Vision achieves 95%+ accuracy on shot detection and scoring. The remaining cases where the AI may struggle include:
Edge-case serves (e.g., extremely fast or obscured by a player's body)
Rallies where the ball is obscured by shadows or netting
Close line calls β just like human referees, these are genuinely difficult
Lighting transitions (e.g., sun moving behind clouds mid-game)
We're constantly improving the AI with each update. If you notice a specific inaccuracy, you can report it using our Data Inaccuracy Report Form.
βοΈ How Do I Correct the Score?
If the final score doesn't match what actually happened, you can correct it manually:
Open the game and go to the Overview tab
Enter the correct final score in the score fields
Save your changes
These corrections are incredibly valuable β they help us improve the scoring algorithm for everyone.
Note: There is currently no way to correct the running score rally-by-rally. Only the final score can be edited. We're working on more granular correction tools for the future.
π Why Are Shots Attributed to the Wrong Player?
Player identification depends on each player being consistently visible throughout the match. The AI may swap player identities when:
Players overlap or stand very close together (common at the kitchen line)
A player moves out of the camera's frame, even briefly
Players are wearing similar colors, making them harder to distinguish
Lighting changes cause visual differences mid-game
The best fix is better video setup: follow our Framing & Court Alignment Guidelines, ensure all players are fully visible at all times, and use a stable camera position.
